Thanksgiving thoughts & blessings!

We spent Thanksgiving surrounded by amazing people ~ feeling very grateful indeed. As we devoured our delicious food, I could not help but think of those who do not have what we do. You may be aware of the following website. However, it seems fitting to include it in this Thanksgiving message. www.hungersite.com It is FREE and still helps untold numbers of people. A few seconds of our time daily is well used on it. You will also find the Breast Cancer Site, Literacy Site, etc attached to the page. We click on each one while we are there. :)

Blessings to you all on this day and always!

Hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams & Billy Crystal... it will also feature many awesome comedians ~ Bill Maher, D.L. Hughley, Lewis Black, Sarah Silverman, George Lopez to name a few. I can not think of a better cause than the rebuilding of NOLA and assisting those who lost everything to Hurricane Katrina. This is our chance to help and show the people that we have not ~ and will not ~ forget about them!

Rebuild the levees for New Orleans!

A good friend, who happens to live in New Orleans, told us about this important site ~ Save the Big Easy. The goal is to try to save this amazing city from another hurricane. They are attempting to collect 1 Million signatures so Congress will pass a bill to rebuild the levees. STRONGER this time. Of course, we have signed the pledge. You know how much the city, people & culture of NOLA mean to us (not to mention the food ~ ha!). When you have a chance, review this site & decide for yourself whether to join us in signing.

New Orleans Museum of Art

When we visit NOLA, one place we always make time for is the lovely New Orleans Museum of Art. They have so many great pieces to display. Art is very important to us, and we are picky about which museums get our vote of confidence. We think you will agree that NOMA is worthy of being on the list of wonderful American museums. To show their love & appreciation for everyone who lives in Louisiana, NOMA is offering FREE admission to LA residents through December 2006. Once a month, classic films that are about or are set in New Orleans are featured. The Sculpture Garden is another must see. It will have its own post soon. :) Click on the link we have given to NOMA.org to find out more info on exhibitions, workshops, films, etc. The great photo accompanying this post was taken by my Tommy on our last trip!
